This guide details Swap Global's Key Features. The guide offers a peek into each feature, showing how they can benefit your store.

Shipping Zones

Shipping Zones are a way to apply a single set of shipping settings to a group of countries at once.

Shipping Zone Configuration in the Swap Dashboard

Swap can manipulate Shipping Zones in Shopify. Shipping Zones can be activated, deactivated, edited, and deleted straight from your Swap Dashboard. This means there is no need to configure these in Shopify Admin manually.

If you already use Shipping Zones in Shopify, you do not have to manually set them up in the Swap Dashboard; you can migrate the zones directly from Shopify to Swap. After activating these zones, Swap automatically updates the carrier in the Shopify shipping zones to Swap Global, ensuring Swap Global provides the shipping costs, taxes, and duties.

Duties & Tax Buffers

Duties and tax buffers allow you to adjust the amount your customers are charged for duties and taxes at checkout by a certain percentage.

If you want to subsidize the cost of duties and taxes, a decrease buffer lets you partially or completely cover these costs for a smoother checkout experience.

On the other hand, an increased buffer lets you account for any extra fees that may not be included at checkout.

Shipping Rules

You can create complex shipping rules to determine which shipping methods are displayed to your customers during checkout.

Conditions can be based on cart weight and cart subtotal. Conditions on the same variable are combined with an OR, while groups of conditions on different variables are combined with an AND. Essentially, at least one condition for each cart variable must be met for the rule to be active.

You can use the following comparisons:

  • Less Than
  • Less Than or Equal to
  • Greater Than
  • Greater Than or Equal to
  • Between

Custom Fees

The custom fees section allows you to create as many custom fees as you like, which will be charged to the customer at checkout.

All custom fees created will be displayed and can be edited or deleted, and new custom fees can easily be created.

Pricing Zones

Pricing zones are a powerful tool for managing and applying a consistent pricing strategy across multiple countries simultaneously. This feature simplifies setting and updating prices for various international markets, providing a seamless and efficient user experience.

Analytics

Swap Global Analytics is a powerful tool for understanding and monitoring your business. It provides an overview of Global’s sales performance and enables you to track key metrics effectively. Additionally, it offers insights into product performance, helping you identify trends, spot opportunities, and make data-driven decisions. The Analytics page gives a detailed view of performance per product and country.

More info on the Analytics Dashboard can be found here.

VAT-Inclusive Pricing

With VAT-Inclusive pricing, you can seamlessly integrate VAT into your product prices. This approach simplifies the process for your customers by ensuring that the price they see is the price they pay, without any additional VAT added at checkout. This can improve the shopping experience by providing transparency and increasing customer satisfaction.

Tax Breakdown

When shipping is handled by Swap Global, a description of taxes and duties will be visible at check-out. Depending on the Shopify plan, this description could differ.

This description contains a breakdown of the following:

  • The shipping rate
  • Taxes (VAT or Sales Tax)
  • Import duties and fees

Tax Breakdown in Order Notes

The order notes feature adds the shipping costs, taxes, and duties to the order notes in Shopify so both merchants and customers can review them.

The shipping line total charged to the customer at checkout is the sum of various factors, including:

  • The shipping rate
  • Taxes (VAT or Sales Tax)
  • Import duties and fees

More information on the Tax Breakdown can be found here.

Currency conversion

Before the tax breakdown description is displayed at checkout, Swap Global determines the customer’s currency and converts the breakdown accordingly. This ensures the customer has a seamless checkout experience, with all monetary values presented in a single currency.

💡 Conversion rates are updated once a day. Swap Global’s conversion rate will likely not match Shopify’s, so the breakdown (that is converted by Swap Global) will not always add up perfectly to the amount charged (that is converted by Shopify).

Billing & Invoicing

The Billing Page allows you to view all of your invoices in one place. It offers filtering options by status, invoice number, or date, making it easy to sort through your records. To view more details about an invoice, simply click on it in the table.

On the Invoice Details Page, you’ll find a comprehensive breakdown of each invoice. This includes detailed information on individual transactions, such as order IDs, duties, taxes, and fees. The page also provides aggregate data for each destination country, showing VAT, duties, and other taxes. You have the option to export the invoice as a PDF or download the transaction data as a CSV file.
