This integration allows you to streamline your logistics and inventory management processes and get the most out of our quality control feature.
Benefits of using the Mintsoft integration
Streamline your returns process even more with the Mintsoft integration by seamlessly transferring Quality Control data directly into Swap. This integration allows you to automate the entire returns workflow, eliminating manual work and reducing the risk of errors. By passing Quality Control data straight into Swap, you ensure that every return is processed accurately and efficiently, improving your overall operational efficiency. You can keep track of each return’s status and quality checks, making it easier to manage inventory, and automatically process refunds and store credit.
This integration also allows you to access Quality Control analytics in Swap to gain valuable insights into your returns process.
Getting Started
Some settings need to be configured manually for integration with Mintsoft. Below are the details we need and how to get that information.
For the integration to run successfully, we must ensure that all the data we pull from Mintsoft exactly matches what is in Swap. This means Return reasons, SKUs, and Order IDs must be exactly the same - including upper/lower case usage, prefixes, spaces, dashes, etc.
API key
To connect, we will need your Mintsoft API key. Follow the steps below to find your API key. Your API key must be set to never expire.
-
Head over to https://api.mintsoft.co.uk/swagger/ui/index#!/Auth/Auth_Post
-
Enter a request in the following format:
{ "Username": "Mintsoft username", "Password": "login password" }
It should look something like this with your Mintsoft username and password:
-
Click the ‘Try it out!’ button at the bottom left of the page.
-
Scroll down to the ‘Response body’, and your API key will be there.
You can find Mintsoft’s support documentation on this here.
Mintsoft Client ID
Your Mintsoft client ID is usually a short number, such as 12, and should be within your account.
Please let us know if you don’t know or can’t find your client ID. After we receive your API key, we can locate it for you.
Return reason
For Swap to be able to read the return condition directly from Mintsoft, you will need to use the ‘Return Reason’ field to indicate the condition rather than the ‘Stock Condition’ field.
This is highlighted in green below:
Please share the exact return reasons you’d like to use going forward (e.g., Good, Faulty, Customer Abuse) and whether you’d like Swap to approve the items with each classification.
If you haven’t specified any return reasons yet, this Mintsoft support document contains instructions on how to add them.
Update tracking number
Please let us know if you’d like us to update the order’s “ExternalOrderReference” field in Mintsoft with the returns tracking number.
If you decide to update the "ExternalOrderReference" field with the tracking number in Mintsoft, the return shipping label can be scanned upon arrival to quickly locate the return within Mintsoft.
Implementation
Once your account manager receives the above information, they will run a short confirmation test with the Swap technical team and enable Quality Control within your dashboard.
How to Use
Once the integration is enabled, its very simple to manage. You can track inventory and returns seamlessly between Mintsoft and Swap.
For complete information on how to use Mintsoft, please refer to the Mintsoft Knowledge Base.
From now on, all returns that pass will be processed automatically.
Any return that fails will go into the “needs review” tab; manual interaction will be required, such as:
- Emailing the customer
- Closing the return
- Processing the return
- Completing an action on shopify
- Obtaining more evidence from your warehouse team
- Use quality control analytics to understand how many returns are passing and failing
If you’re unsure on why a return has failed or the integration notes, please reach out to tech-support@swap-commerce.com
